How to file selected incoming and outgoing e-mails under the correct contacts?

    Trialing again EspoCRM.

I want to achieve something very basic: File selected incoming and outgoing e-mails (around 100 per day on average) from a handful of MS Exchange and IMAP mailboxes under the correct contacts.

The obvious method is to forward these incoming e-mails and BCC these outgoing e-mails to the Group e-mail address. However, e-mails be so forwarded/BCC'ed do not parse the true sender/recipient correctly but instead parse the sender/recipient of the forward/BCC.

Is there a configuration setting I'm missing? How is this very basic task otherwise accomplished?

I think I may have partially figured out how to selectively file incoming and outgoing e-mails: Create a new folder named, for example, EspoCRM, in an IMAP mailbox, set up a Personal Email Account to fetch e-mails from that new folder and selectively drag & drop incoming and outgoing e-mails into that new folder for filing.

However, I hit a snag in trying to fetch e-mails from MS Exchange via IMAP. Microsoft has phased out Basic Auth and now requires OAuth 2.0. EspoCRM does not appear to have been updated to the new authentication scheme. Apparently, IMAP with OAuth 2.0 has been packed into the Extension "Outlook Integration" with syncs Outlook calendars and contact (USD 240 p.a.), which is not really consistent with EspoCRM's claim to be a "Free Self Hosted & Cloud CRM Software" if e-mails cannot be logged.

P.S.: BCC outgoing e-mails to a Group e-mail address does, contrary to my original post, also work as the "To" and "From" attributes in the e-mail header are preserved and, hence, EspoCRM files these e-mails correctly with the account/contact.
