Import Wizard – Create & Update / Update Only Not Working

Hello EspoCRM Community,

I have a new learning regarding the 'Import Wizard' when trying to upload data into the ANY entity.

Here are the steps I you should follow:

1. Open the Import Wizard.
2. Select Entity Type = Account.
3. Upload my CSV file.
4. In What to do, I select Create & Update or Update Only.
   • If I select Create Only, it works, but this creates duplicates.
5. I don’t change any other import properties, since they already match what I need.
6. I preview the data, and it looks good.
7. I click Next.
8. I map the fields
9. I click Run Import.

If the outcome is that nothing is uploaded – no records created or updated, mean that you didn't select the "Update by" field in the mapping section.

The mapping screen would be helpful. As well as the CSV contents (the header and the first data row would be suffice).

Hi Yuri,

I have now learn, the problem was that I didn't select a value for "Update by". This was the main problem.

I have updated the post to help unaware people like myself. By the way, do you know if is there a way to make the Import Wizard map fields automatically when the CSV column names match the entity field names exactly? It's only mapping only a few fields.
