  • Does EspoCRM require contacts to be subscribers before marketing emails can be sent?

    Hi Everyone:

I look at a multitude of CRM program and landed on EspoCRM. I originally used mail merge to send out emails to a few people and got blocked because I was noted as spam. I can understand that, however, it was not that many people and I provide services directly related to their company, so I am trying to understand how I can send out emails. Additionally, the CRM programs that I looked at like Mailchimp, beehive, etc., all required me to acknowledge that my contacts were indeed subscribers.

I am left wondering how I can send an email or use a feature of mail merge if is considered spam and does EspoCRM require me to attest to that? I tried looking at the license but it was mainly prohibiting duplication of the program.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi,
not understand all because my english (mail merge), your problem is not dependant of EspoCrm.
you need to read all requirement/restriction of your provider email.

So you just need to configure EspoCrm to "restriction" of your email provider.
    sample fake restriction office365 :
    100mail/sec
    1000mail/hours
and so.. you can search google for see real restriction with your provider

MailChimp extension can be usefull for you.

You need to include a "unsuscribe link" to your mail, so EspoCrm can't send email to people unsuscribed. This is a law on Europe.

And important : you need configure your DNS with DMARC, DKIM, SFP .. see : https://mxtoolbox.com/

    Hope another forum user contribute

In Espo, you have contacts and target lists. You just set up a Mass Email to send out emails to contacts from a specific target list. If your recipients will report your emails as spam, it's likely that your email provider will take measures or your mailbox or server's IP address will be added to black lists. Mass Email is tricky in modern days.

There's a Lead Capture feature in Espo. It allows to require a subscriber to double opt-in (which is a requirement by law in Europe). It's may be useful if you have subscription form on a website.
