If we make a connection of a many-to-many entity to itself, then the intermediate connection does not contain the ID of the entity. Entity IDs are either leftId or rightId. The formula has a hard-wired binding to the name of the ID field.

For many-to-many the middle table never contains the 'id' column. I think the description if wrong. An error message in bug reports is asked. I always ask to try to follow bug report rules.
