Exporting

When you try to export a certain number of records that are larger it defaults to using cron. 2 questions:

1. Is there a way to increase the size or number of records to export so it doesn't default to cron?
2. How to you give access to the "Attachments" when creating user roles? I don't see anywhere you can give a role access to this. So for example an "Employee" role has export options but the system runs the cron because the export is larger, right now one of the admins have to login, get the file for the employee.

I'm sure I'm missing something.

2. Not possible. Access to attachment is determined by access to a parent record.
