  • Categories Tree expanded by default

Every time I view Categories I have to click to expand them.

It would be better to have then expanded by default.

With the option to Collapse being secondary.

And a cookie can save the last-used state per user as the preference.

The state is remembered (in browser storage). You don't need to click every time. Unless you use incognito mode.

    > It would be better to have then expanded by default.

The matter of preference. I think the opposite is better.

Interesting - I deleted all local storage and now it works.

I think my main suspicion would be that it could have been confused when I logged into a Portal with the same user ID when I had them setup under the main domain and not under subdomains, which might confuse things.

I'll monitor it and see if I find any more clues - but for now the fix seems to have been clearing caches. Thanks.

I spoke too soon - it's stopped "remembering" again. I haven't logged in with any Portals or other profiles since. Just clicked around a few objects and added a new Relationship with an unrelated Entity.

If I do Admin > Clear Cache and Rebuild, then it works.

I can navigate around and it still works.

However, when I navigate to Emails and then back to Products, the Products Categories are collapsed again.

If I expand some Document Categories, then navigate to other Entities that don't have Categories and back, then the opened Categories are the same. However if I navigate to Product, then back to Documents, then the Documents Categories are collapsed.

So it seems to conflict in the state caching that's is lost or confused when navigating from one Entity with Categories to another.

Seems reproducible in multiple browsers when navigating from Entities with Categories to other Entites with Categories and back.

I've notice the category tree states do not seem to survive a page refresh either.

I like that the intention is that the states are store. It is just my experience that they are not always, and that inconsistency just makes for a little more laborious experience when working a lot with categories.

I still could not reproduce. Did you try on production with a real domain name? It have never happened to me before (we have this feature for a few years at least). If you have multiple instances on the same domain they can interfere each other. Such parameters are stored per domain name.

        It's on a live subdomain; crm.example.com.

Portals are on the same domain too, eg; clients.example.com, suppliers.example.com but I'm not visiting those in between.

I do have another instance new.crm.example.com but not using that when I'm finding this issue.

It's happening solely when navigating around that one crm.example.com domain and not navigating any other, although they would have been navigated in the past.

I'll keep testing and see if I can find anything more identifiable and bear in mind what you say about the domain space for cookies.
    Working...
