  • Snooze or Recreate Tasks

    We call customers on a regular basis. If there were the ability to create a task to call back: In 1 Day / In 1 Week / In 2 Weeks / In 1 Month
    that would be great. It would clone the task (description / account / (everything)) except the date would be pushed forward a certain amount of time.

    For logging purposes, the existing task would not be affected to maintain an audit trail.
    I would be willing to pay for this to be completed as it seems like a simple thing.

          Recurring events not made. Do you know how they should be designed? Usually there are formula of recurrence and recurring records nor stored in DB.

            From what I have seen, it would copy all fields but primary key.
            Add something like (copy) after the task title and keep everything the same.
            The one exception would be if we say 'copy task for next month' it would change the date to reflect next month time frame.

            Does that make sense?

              No. What if we want to schedule call each day till 2020 year. Ib Outlook and Google Calendar only one record is created. Other ones are fetched on DB query level. Using some formula.

                Yes definitely not copy the task, storing the recurring parameters for each event (task, call, meeting etc) should be enough.

                  This is complex. Maybe it's ok with Calendar view. But problems with list view, detail view. The current approach doesn't allow that.

                    Yuri.
                    "Task Templates" is part of "Template System".
                    "template system" working for every activity. you can create template for task,case,call,email and etc...
                    ​when you create new "template" you select for which activity this template is. then you create group (for better filtering). and then you write all data you want to be inserted to activity that will be created based on this template.
                    now, when we going to create new activity we will have the options to choose "create this activity based on template" when you select this option you will see "lookup field" with all the templates for this activity (task for example) then you will have filter to sort only for specific group or just search by the template name.

                    Recurring Activity working based on "time frame" but not just time frame.
                    Recurring System need to have the ability to create filter(dynamic data) on what data you want to do some Recurring things.
                    for example. we can create filter that will show us all customers that have birthday today. so is this case, we want to create workflow that will send to all the customers that have birthday today.
                    this is something that need to be Recurring and every day to check if there is "data" or "records" based on the filter to do some things (send email,create something, update something and etc...)

                    what do you think yuri it's something that can be add to espocrm?

                      This recurring system that you described implemented in some crm systems as Workflows. You create Workflow that will run everyday and do some actions against records that march some conditions.

                      Regarding templates. Didn't notice that template system is needed by crm users. Did you? It's usually needed for Projects.

                        its not only workflows. its can be any activity,entity or workflow that need to do the same thing based on conditions.
                        about templates. its for users also. every time you create new task for new lead you need to ask the same for your sales(make new call, try to understand how we can help and etc...). this was one example. you have alot of "templates task" that repeated. so why not to use this as templates?
