Add action buttons

It would help if we could add buttons in the layout manager to start a specific workflow. Example: I have a VAT ID field in the customer's view. I would like to have a button next to the field which would trigger a "Check VAD ID" workflow and store the result in a text field. (E.G. VAT checked at 10/10/2018 - VALID)

Are there any plans to add such buttons?

I would like to see a button for custom links, javascript function or calling a BMP workflow too.
