  • tel: Hyperlinks

Hi, one of the great features I like in ESPO are the phone number hyperlinks. When I store the number "01234 56789" in ESPO it creates that as a hyperlink to "tel:01234 567890" which then triggers Skype to call that number. All great until ...

Microsoft upgraded Skype and broke it!! If the hyperlink is "tel:01234567890" then it works, if the hyperlink is "tel:01234 567890" then it fails as it changes the space for a 20 (I can understand the conversation around URL encoding, but this is badly done).

So I have a case with Microsoft, which may / may not got a fix. However, if ESPO trimmed the phone number for the hyperlink, removing all spaces (leave other characters) then it would work with Skype and should not break anything else. It is also probably the right thing to do as spaces shouldn't really be in hyperlinks.

I appreciate I could go through all 3,000 contacts and change their numbers, but that would make them un-readable, and be a real pain.

    Thanks.
