Change default search to "contains" instead of "startsWith"

We've just started working with EspoCRM and so far really like it! One thing that confuses our users is the fact that the default search for objects seems to be "startsWith" instead of "contains" as users nowadays expect it to be. Is there a way to change this globally or on a per-object basis?
