Add an Inventory Split Feature to Inventory Adjustment

As a user it would be a great feature to be able to split and combine inventory numbers into different inventory number using a feature like the Inventory Adjustment feature. We have a need to be able to not just adjust the inventory levels to inventory numbers but be able to actually take an inventory number and turn it into new inventory numbers with new levels. The ability to:

    - Split - Take one Inventory Number and turn it into two or more inventory numbers with new separate numbers and levels created and loaded into a warehouse.
    - Combine/merge - Take more than one inventory number and turn it into one new inventory number with the combined levels of all the individual inventory numbers.

This would provide the users the ability to be able to match and split inventory with new sublots / sub-batches / sub serialized inventory as well as combine multiple serialized inventory numbers and combine them together to say one batch inventory number so the customer can get 1 line item on a sales order instead of say 50 serialized inventory numbers.

The key features that would make this useful for most people would be the tracking of the split from one to many as well as the combine of many to one. Also having the ability to stay in Espo and have these actions provided help with tracking and keeping all the data in Espo.

We would like to be able to take any inventory number type and convert to any other inventory type. The new inventory number should be able to get its own number / name and load the new one crated with the correct levels. This would allow for taking one type and converting over to another to be able to assist in the correct packaging flow.

Any info on how this can be done if this is something that Espo does not see value in would also be very helpful.

    Thank You,

    Hi Jeffrey,

Is in it the functionality that is usually called Bill of Materials in ERPs? It allows splitting and combining inventory items. It's applied on inventory items, not on numbers. Though if items are tracked by numbers, it's logically that numbers should be assigned upon splitting and combining.
If you find EspoCRM good, we would greatly appreciate if you could give the project a star on GitHub. We believe our work truly deserves more recognition. Thanks.

Hi yuri the issue I am facing is we have very specific tracking numbers per case. We also have rules around keeping track of what came from what. We can perform the splits and combines in the ERP however the issue is that because we already loaded the inventory numbers one way into Espo we dont have an easy way to change them once they are changed. Other than deleting the current ones and reloading the new ones after they are split or combined.. That of course works. The feature request stems from wanting to be able to instead perform the action in Espo so we can have a record of it in relation to a Sales Order / Delivery Order and be able to combine or split and push that info back to the ERP. We are getting pushback from customers when they get an order and it has say 20 cases of 50 all with individual tracking numbers instead of each case of 50 all being able to given the same tracking number.

The real issue stems from not knowing what will be combined or split until the sales order / delivery order are actually generated.

Hope this helps with what and why we are asking. As always if you have any suggestions on this or are willing to take this type of feature on amazing. If not no worries you do more than enough in every way with this system.

HUGE THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ESPO TEAM!
