Filter Product available column based on warehouse

Currently there is the ability to create a filter to show only products that are available in a specific warehouse. It would be really nice to have the available field actually then only show what is available for products in that specific warehouse only. This would provide a nice way to look at all available inventory with categories etc.. but only show what is in that specific warehouse available..

Right now if you filter to show products that are in one specific warehouse and that product exists in other warehouses the total of all warehouses available shows. The only way to see what is available in just that one warehouse is to select a product itself and see the available for each warehouse. For example: 50 units of a product available in warehouse A and 20 units available in warehouse B. Create filter that says available in warehouse A and the product will show but the available field will show 70 not 50. My hope is to have the ability to show only 50 because we created the filter to show only available in warehouse A.

Just a thought that I think might help anyone who is stocking the same product in multiple warehouses and wants to easily see only what is available in one or a segment of them by creating a filter on the warehouse.

Having a column value that changes based on a filter is against the system design. Technically it's possible to implement, but I see it as a wrong step away.

Currently, it's possible to view products on the Warehouse detail view. The limitation: there is no category filtering

yuri it sounds like I am not going to convince you if this is part of how you see the system ethos. However, I would argue that not changing the value of a column that a filter should affect causes a disconnect between the filter and the results. Clearly the system is allowing a filter set to Warehouse (On Hand) and defining a set of warehouses. The on-hand column then is not correctly showing the (On Hand) for that filter. Same for Available. What that does is provide an incorrect answer then to what the filter says vs what that column says. I have examined all the filters and I think the only one this is true with is the warehouse filter. As shown in the example you are saying show (On-Hand) for this warehouse but then the view shows On Hand for all Warehouses.

As for the Warehouse view showing only products in that warehouse. Yes that is true and can be used. However it lacks a lot of what it seems like the product page was designed for. A type of menu with categories and easy navigation. It also lacks the ability to have more than one warehouse grouped together to form a territory.

I guess I would ask you what your intention to have regional sales reps working out of Espo do to have a real Menu of just the warehouses they have available in their territory? If the filters for Available and On Hand would actually filter those columns then the products page can be built with regional filters to work as a true menu. Without that it is not really that useful as you will not be able to only sell from your one territory. Yes you could install several different Espo Instances but that seems more wrong.

I really am looking to hear yours and others thoughts on this. I am not that hopeful that you will see my side on this. However I am really trying hard to see your side and develop out a way to have my regional sales reps work out of only their warehouses selling..

I very much appreciate you taking the time to always look, read and think about these things. We make suggestions here to get our ideas out and communally work out what would be best features to make the system that much more flexible. Regardless if you decide this is going to make Espo Better or not you and the team have really done an amazing job and there is always the rout for me to build what I need as an extension..

In future, I hope we will have the fully-fledged Warehouse > Products list view. It also will be possible to have navbar tabs for each warehouse. Though it won't solve the problem of multiple warehouses displayed on the same page.

There are some ideas, but it needs looking into code first. Currently, we are focused on other things. I'll check later when get a chance.

yuri Just a thought from something you said. It would be awesome if you built the ability to have tabs on the product page as a type of Subnav that you can build logic into to have multiple warehouses. I see that you are going to the Warehouse > Products view and building out that so it works more like a menu. That is good stuff. However I think its a bit of a miss to not treat the products page as a menu so Products > (Multi Warehouse) and let us build out tabs that we can put logic into for multiple warehouses but the view would show the available only on the warehouses defined.

I really think that the Products page should be able to be configured as a menu. For that to really work correctly you want the ability to have territories or groupings of warehouses for Espo to remain flexible for every situation. A state by state territory or country by country or city by city. Whenever there are multiple warehouses that the sales rep is in charge of being able to see all of those together in a menu "should" be the products page configured in these ways.

The idea of a special warehouse tabs you can build on the products page that do then only show what is available in those defined warehouses and let us name them what we want, even have a way to have scripts so you could say all warehouses with this field set to this condition will be part of this warehouse tab on the product page will allow for ultimate flexibility without creating a filter that effects the values of the columns..

I wanted to get this thought out there since you had said you will be working on this at a later time.
