How to integrate POS Software with Application?

Hello!
First Post here, and I’m interested in your thoughts on Has anyone successfully integrated a POS Software into their app? What API has worked for you?

I remember a brief discussion on this topic about 1 year ago, I can't find where it was posted but it was only discussion. There was no proof of concept or a working system, and as Point of Sale (POS) wasn't something I need I didn't look into it too much.

I did however bookmark this website though, https://opensourcepos.org/
But looking through it again, there is no mention of API so I doubt it can do integration without. Reading through their Github, there was a few brief talk of API:

Basically, it not looking too good at the moment without putting in some work if you want a working POS + EspoCRM system

What exactly POS Software did you use and was it successfully integrated?
