Edit mode trigger

Hi,

Is there any system trigger dedicated for invoking edit mode view ? Actually I found solution using jquery but maybe you can give me some tips how to do it right way.

I don't think so, it might be possible with Workflow (but I never use it so not sure of it capability). I'm more interested in this JQuery solution you have if you can share the details.
