Connect folders on file server with customers or other entities?

My company uses a Linux fileserver. There we have one big folder with sub-folders for each customer, with sub-sub-folders like invoices, technical documents, letters etc.

    1. My boss does not want to put all this into Espo. Is there a possibility to link a customer or another entity with a folder on a volume so that I can click on a link in Espo and the folder opens in the file manager of the operating system (like Mac Finder, Windows Explorer etc)?

    2. Also, could I make it in a way that all files that come from this customer via Email or in other ways are automatically stored there?

I remember this sound familiar, took awhile but I found this thread:

I think it related to your question. S for your "click to open File Manager (local)", I remember there was another thread about that as well. My suggestion was to use a Browser Extensions/Addon for that. With my knowledge I don't think it is ever possible to be able to open a File Manager from the browser.

You might want to consider writing a software that have more control to be able to do that. However, thinking about it, I decide to do a quick research and found some reading resource that can make it happen for you.

With regard to getting the correct path, if your folder system is good no issue, you can import and combine formula to get all your folder linking running. If it bad then you might require the occasion editing.
