Calculation Handler - Loading Entity During Calculate/CalculateItem

Is it possible to load an Entity in the `calculate` or `calculateItem` functions within a calculation handler?

The calculation handlers seem to be decoupled from the facilities which provide entity access so I'm thinking its probably not possible.
