Overwrite record Id

Hi everyone,

I would like to overwrite record Id for example the Account Id. Exactly I want that the account id will change based on a custom field.

I saw that during the import I can select the ID and the records will have the Id value that I selected. So it means that this option it's possible. I tried to do the same with API post/put but it didn't work.

Can someone help me with this topic? Do you know

You should try search and replace in database. This should work, but please create a backup before.

Hi emillod, first of all thank you for your reply.

In my case I can skip the search, I'm already in the target record. I was thinking to do with a workflow, with an update target record, I can select the id field but when the workflow is triggered the field is not updated.

Please find attached a screen for a better explanation.

Do you know if there is some way?
