What tools do you use for debugging custom formulas?

Hi, I am having a difficult time trying to debug (I am a noob in php development). Please, what I need to do to get the outputs (print, echo) from custom formulas?

on a old version of espo i created a custom formula function to dump the arguments in the log. such an approach is useful
