get the record count in old espo crm versions(5.4)

I have applied this code in 5.4.3.
record\count(ENTITY_TYPE, KEY1, VALUE1)
It works only after 5.5.6. But It doesn't work.Please help me to find out the record count in versions 5.4

Thanks for the response. Now recordgroup folder doesn't exist in 5.4.3. can i include recordgroup in functions folder and can i include counttype.php inside recordgroup. Please help in detail. Thanks in advance.
