How to add the plus sign for creating another value in a field.

Thanks for the reference. I have read the links and documentation from the posts you recommended. I am afraid I cannot grasp the information I need from looking at existing fields as an example. I have created a custom entity Keyword and it has in its definition a varchar field keyword. I just want to add the plus sign to that field. Can you possibly give some more specific help?
