Auto Complete item select as you type

I am wondering if it is possible to enable a auto complete feature on the item select box that allows you to select from a list of items that match the text you've typed so far? if it possible to run a query using " like [partial-keyword}" or is there another way?

Hello,
do you mean select - link field, or select for enum field.
Autocomplete for link field works well. You just type the first letters of the name of this entity.
For enum field autocomplete works only for first letter
