No, I haven't, but proceeded with Espo.Ui.Dialog with 2 buttons directing to the required page.

Does anyone have idea how to add a sub menu ? tried something, but looking for others feedback too.

No way to do this natively (default), there is a Paid extension by aymen (or eblasoft) if you find this is an absolute must to have.

Alternative the top theme got a "..." button which shrink the menu but that is not what you are after. I started using that instead of Vertical mode because I get more screen estate that way.
