Merge Entities, Also update all references

When merging two companies or two users, the notes & contact from the 'losing' side of the merge are unlinked. I would like to look at improving this so all references to the entity_id are updated with the 'winner' of the merge.

I'm presuming that this will be a server side operation, rather than in JS.
