    Enable Description rather than short Description in Reports View

    Hello all,

    I'm rather new to the ESPO World and have been tasked by a different department to administer Espo.

    I now have been tasked to enable the description field in the reports overview, which should can view if you edit the reports view.

    The normal view just shows a short description which is not connected to the normal description. Is there any solution to modify the view?

    I already looked for the right json files in the advanced package, but I'm unable to come up with a solution.
    I saw from a different Forum entry, that the normal layout manager can't be used for the reports, so I was hoping for a backend solution.

      I don't understand the problem. Is that the label not being properly translated?

          If you need to show another field instead of the default one, you will need to create custom layouts in the custom folder. But not that it's not fully upgrade-safe as if we add new fields in future versions, they won't appear if the layout is customized.

              Hey Yuri,

              thank you for the response! The problem is, that there was information added in the field "description". This information is only visible, if you edit the reports section. The requirement from my colleagues is, that the information from the field "description" should be displayed instead of the information from "Kurzbeschreibung".

                  It seems that the custom field was manually added. Check layouts in custom/Espo/Custom/Resources/layouts/Report/

                  However I advice not to create custom fields in the Report entity type.

                      Thank you, I found the .json that is responsible for the layout. The field "comment" is displayed in the reports view instead of "description". I can take it away from the reports view layout but I'm unable to change it to description.

                      Thanks for the advice, I won't create a custom field. I was just hoping to take the existing "description" field which I can see by editing.

                              Hi,
                              there are no "comment" field in report.. the print-screen you provide is "custom".
                              Maybe, for me, you can delete, (as we see only a part of the json) and make a clearCache, and rebuild.
