WYSIWYG field needs to change focus on edit

I have a WYSIWYG field. When I edit the field if I don't click into the "input" area before clicking something like the link button it allows me to input the information and then places the link in a strange area outside the actual field. I'm assuming the input area should get focus whenever you click one of the buttons in the WYSIWYG editor if you haven't clicked in the input area before.

It's possible this is a SummerNote issue
