Changing an Object Title

Hello everyone,

I'm working with an object that was created earlier, and I'd like to rename its title to make it easier to organize and identify.

I've looked through the available options but I'm not sure if changing the title will affect any existing references or settings.

Is it safe to change an object's title after it has been created, and are there any limitations I should know about?

Hi Eileen,

You can rename the entity type label (both singular and plural) under Administration > Entity Manager > {Entity Type} > Edit.

Renaming the internal entity type name is not what I would recommend to do. It can be referenced in many places (Formula, config parameters, relationships).

We do have a command for renaming, but it won't rename all references. https://github.com/espocrm/espocrm/issues/2318

Also make sure your entity type name starts with "C" characters, which is needed for future compatibility.
