Default Sort on Available in the Template Variant Options Selection

Is there a way to have the sort by default set to descending order on the Available column in the selection slide out panel. I tried seeing if there was a way using the entry manager. However in the layout there is no way to sort on that column. If that is true is there any other way that can be done to change the default behavior?
