upgrade from 3.92 - 4.0.X

I've installed and started to use V3.92 a month or so ago.
Today I noticed 4.0 was released.
When 4.0.x is finally somewhat settled, I would like to upgrade.

In looking at the "upgrade packages", it would seem one would have to climb up an upgrade ladder one package at a time.

Is there an upgrade process to jump to "the most recent" package from 3.9.2?
